A new layer for advanced teams. This event is for experienced nose work dogs and handlers (dogs on odor, handlers have competed, etc) who want a refresher on foundational training . We will emphasize instilling good habits and attitudes in the handler/trainer. There will also be a lot of discussion on theory and an emphasis on the dog’s independence from the handler.

Patterns and Handling (full day)
This workshop is for dogs at any stage of training. We will tackle all 4 elements (Containers, Vehicles, Interiors, Exteriors) and cover the following questions and more:
What is a pattern?
Why do patterns?
When should I pattern and when should I let the dog lead?
Are some searches better for patterning than others?

Nose Work Games
Revitalize your nose work training for you and your dog (full day)This seminar is about learning how to cope with stress and competition anxiety and turn it into fun and excitement. Each game will focus on different skills or attitudes that you can then apply to everyday searches. Teams should be working Birch, Anise and Clove.

The Big 3: Converging Odors, Distractions, Inaccessible Hides
Do you want to enhance your dog’s skills when odors converge?  Do you want to feel confident your dog is on odor and not alerting on a distraction?  Do you want to be able to read your dog on an inaccessible hide and call it quickly? This seminar will help you become better at reading your dog on The Big 3.

Footwork
This workshop focuses on the handler's footwork: how the handler moves their feet, where, when, and why. We will go through handling lines, corners, transitions and chaining these together. You will need a large open space for this workshop.

Handler’s Choice
What is it that you feel your team could benefit from the most?  Is it elevated hides?  Is it reading your dog?  Is it leash handling skills? Whatever you would like to work on Michael will help you gain some strategies and insight.  Handler’s submit 2-3 requests, and will work on at least 2 during the seminar.
This seminar is appropriate for any level as long as the dog is on odor.

Murder Mystery
We set up a Murder Mystery scenario for your students. Medium/large venues with a variety of spaces preferred.
Or, buy the scenario from us and set it up yourself!

Treibball

Treibball is a new dog sport from Europe that incorporates elements of advanced obedience, billards, and soccer. Although inspired by sheep herding, it requires no herding instinct. Dogs of any breed or ages can enjoy Treibball, which provides a mental challenge for your dog. Dogs tire quickly, without much physical exertion, making it an exceptional sport for senior or disabled dogs.

Intro to Treibball (full day or half day)

This Intro clinic will present the topic of balancing and "come bys." Balancing is automatically orienting to the handler in order to ensure that the ball comes straight to the handler once the dog learns to push. Pushing the ball will not be covered in this clinic.

Advanced Balancing Clinic (full day or half day)

For those who have taken Intro to Treibball.

Topics covered:
– Multiple balls
– Obstacles
– Distance
– Advanced directional control
– Whistle signals (if desired)
– How to maintain your foundation

Pushing Clinic

This clinic is for dogs who fully understand balancing. Minimum: balance behind the ball with the handler 10 feet away, ideally be able to select between multiple balls at a distance and stop a ball that's rolling away.

Treibball Games ( full day)

Teams who can direct their dog to one of three balls (judge's choice) 20ft away and have the dog bring it to them, can attend this workshop.

We will cover a variety games and have mini competitions. We will also cover judging and how to host competitions.
